Little Spider offers a sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides in ornamental cultivation. Discover how Little Spider brings nature and cultivation together.
Koos Bruinen discovered a solution eleven years ago that does just that: a small, inconspicuous spider that is a natural enemy of pests such as thrips and aphids. This “miracle spider” not only changed the cultivation of his plants, but also paved the way for a new approach in ornamental horticulture: less chemistry, more nature.
With the help of his children, Fleur and Luuk, the company Little Spider was created, which focuses entirely on spreading this sustainable alternative. Growers are guided in creating optimal conditions for the little spider, which with some patience and attention can bring lasting balance to the greenhouse. This means less chemical pesticides, lower costs and increased biodiversity.
Little Spider's approach does require a new mindset: It takes several months for the spiders to become established, and growers must be willing to adjust their greenhouses. But the result is a biological balance that benefits both nature and the wallet.
With personal guidance and a focus on quality over quantity, Little Spider brings growers closer to a sustainable future. A future where nature and cultivation go hand in hand.
